Your water test comes separately, in its own box from an independent laboratory, with its own prepaid label. It goes back to the laboratory, never in our box.

One case in every room
The cases are identical, so any case can go in any room. One sits in your main living space for the whole home, and one goes in each room you choose.

How the week goes
About five minutes of setup, then an ordinary week. Everything for the week comes in one box. It holds a numbered case for your main living space and one for each room you choose, each with its own power cord and wall adapter, a printed sample report, a handwritten card and a prepaid return label.
Place each case at about seated height, roughly three feet from windows, outside doors, vents and the stove, and not on a nightstand beside a pillow. Mail the water sample separately, straight to the laboratory, on the day you fill it, Monday through Wednesday.

A written report, in plain language
Each reading sits beside a published benchmark where one exists, and the report names who published it. Where there is none, it says so. It is a PDF, room by room, with your water results included. We email you when it is ready, and it stays in your account.
Air, primary bedroom
Carbon dioxide climbed from about 520 ppm at 10 pm to about 1,800 by morning on six of seven nights, which suggests the bedroom got little fresh air overnight.
Light, primary bedroom
On five of seven nights some light remained in the room for a median of 104 minutes after lights-out, then ended at about the same time each night, close to 1 am.
Sound, primary bedroom
On a typical night the room went above 45 decibels fourteen times, each lasting a few seconds, about 35 minutes apart. We cannot tell from a sound level what made the sound, so we will not guess.
Water, kitchen cold tap
Lead, arsenic and uranium were not detected. Copper, nitrate and fluoride were each well under their federal levels.

Bedroom air
In a study of 500 children's bedrooms in Denmark, only about a third averaged under 1,000 ppm of carbon dioxide overnight. See how your bedroom's carbon dioxide climbs while you sleep, a useful sign of how much fresh air reaches you.

What people ask
Is this a home inspection?
No. It is not a home inspection, an appraisal or medical advice, and it is not prepared for use in a sale, a loan, an insurance claim or a legal proceeding.
Do I need to be good with technology?
No. You set each case down, plug in its cord, lift the lid and take a photo of it with your phone. Your account shows how to place each one.
Does anything record what we say?
No. Each case measures how loud a room gets, never what is said in it. Your report shows how loud each room was at night, and when. There are no cameras in the cases.
Will the report tell me what is causing a problem?
It tells you what was measured, when, and how that compares with a published benchmark. It does not guess at causes it cannot see. Where something is worth fixing, it names the kind of work to call for, and the person who does that work can look at the cause in person.
What happens after the report?
The report names the kind of work to call for, and you choose who does it. We are building a list of independent, licensed installers and Luxewell Home OS, a screen for keeping watch afterward. Home OS and the installer list are coming soon, and neither is available yet. You can join an early list for either one. Luxewell does not install, sell or price the work.
Why does my water test come in a different box?
It comes straight from the independent laboratory that tests it, in its own box with its own prepaid return label. Fill it at your tap and send it back to the laboratory on the day you fill it, Monday through Wednesday. It never goes in our box.
Why not just buy an air monitor?
A consumer air sensor shows what it was built to show. The Home Baseline records air, light, sound, temperature and humidity in each room you choose over the same week, tests your tap water at an independent lab, and sets everything in one report beside published benchmarks.
