The Luxewell Home Baseline

Your home, measured for a week.

One box arrives with a numbered case for the whole home and for each room you choose. Setup takes about five minutes, then the cases record for about a week while you live as usual. Send the box back, and we write you a report that says plainly what we measured.

Join the waitlist$1,650 for the whole home plus two rooms, and $295 for each room after that. Nothing is charged to join. Your card is charged when you order, and your box ships within up to 8 weeks. Not a subscription.

How It Works

What you do, start to finish.

About five minutes of setup, then an ordinary week in your own home.

  1. 01

Order online. Name the rooms you care about and read three short agreements.

  2. 02

Your box arrives with a numbered case for each space, a handwritten card, a printed sample report and a prepaid return label.

  3. 03

Your water test arrives separately, in its own box from an independent laboratory, with its own prepaid label.

  4. 04

Open each case in its room, at about the height you sit, plug in its one cord and leave the lid standing up. Your account shows how to place each one.

  5. 05

Upload a photo of each open case. A person at Luxewell checks every photo, and your account shows when your week begins.

  6. 06

Live as usual for about seven days. Cook, sleep and open windows the way you always do.

  7. 07

Close the lids, repack the box, stick the prepaid label over the old one and drop it off with the carrier.

  8. 08

Mail your water sample straight to the laboratory with the kit's own prepaid label, separately from our box, on the day you fill it, Monday through Wednesday.

  9. 09

Read your report: a written PDF, with your water results included, that is yours to keep.

What We Measure

Every case measures the same things in its room.

The cases are identical, so any case can go in any space. One sits in your main living space for the whole home, and one goes in each room you choose.

  • Carbon dioxide, a stand-in for how much fresh air a room is getting.
  • Fine particles in the air, known as PM2.5.
  • Temperature and humidity.
  • Light, reported as timing: when each room is lit and when it goes dark through the night.
  • Nighttime sound: how loud each room gets.
Your Water

Your tap water goes to an independent laboratory.

An independent laboratory ships its own drinking-water kit to you, in a separate box from ours. Fill the bottles at your tap and send them straight back to the laboratory with the kit's own prepaid label, Monday through Wednesday, never in our box. The results come back into your Luxewell report. Homes on a well get a bacteria test too, and you can add a PFAS test or a pesticide test when you order.

Your Report

A written report, in plain language.

Your report sets each measurement beside a published benchmark where one exists, and names who published it. Where there is none, it says so. It describes what was measured and when.

What the Report Recommends

It names the work, never a company.

Where something is worth fixing, the report names the kind of work it calls for and the specification to ask for, written so a heating and air contractor or a plumber can act on it. It never names a company.

Who It Is For

For the room you keep wondering about.

It might be a bedroom that feels stuffy by morning, a child's room that never quite gets dark at night, a bedroom on the street side of the house, or the office where you spend your days. It is also worth doing before you spend money on an air purifier.

Nothing to Manage

One cord to plug in, and nothing goes online.

Each case has one power cord: you plug it in when you open the case. The cases do not join your wifi and send nothing over the internet. There are no cameras in them; the only photos are the ones you take at setup. Nobody from Luxewell comes into your home, and there is no app or dashboard of ours to check during the week. Your report brings the whole week together.

Questions

What people ask.

How is this different from the free Healthy Home Quiz?

The quiz is 21 questions you answer online in about three minutes, and it gives you a score based on your answers. The Home Baseline puts instruments in your rooms for about a week and gives you a written report on what they recorded. The quiz is a good first look. The Home Baseline is the measurement.

Do I need to be good with technology?

No. You set each case down, plug in its cord, open the lid and take a photo of it with your phone. Your account shows how to place each one: at about seated height, roughly three feet from windows, outside doors, vents and the stove, and not on a nightstand beside a pillow.

Is there an app to check during the week?

No. There is no Luxewell app or dashboard, and the cases do not connect to the internet while they record. Your report brings the whole week together.

Does anything record what we say?

No. Each case measures how loud a room gets, never what is said in it. Your report shows how loud each room was at night, and when.

Will the report tell me what is causing a problem?

It tells you what was measured, when, and how that compares with a published benchmark. It does not guess at causes it cannot see. Where something is worth fixing, it names the kind of work to call for, and the person who does that work can look at the cause in person.

What does the Home Baseline not cover?

Radon, chemical vapors and larger dust particles are not part of it, and your report lists what it does not cover. It does not measure carbon monoxide, and it does not replace your carbon monoxide or smoke alarms. Nobody at Luxewell sees the readings until the box comes back. It is not a home inspection, an appraisal or medical advice, and it is not prepared for use in a sale, a loan, an insurance claim or a legal proceeding.

How long do I keep the box?

About a week of measuring, plus a little time on either side to set up and send it back. Your measuring week is 7 days, counted from when your cases start recording. Please send the box back within 5 days after it ends (by day 12). Set it up the day it arrives if you can. If a case gets knocked over or closed during the week, reply to any email from us and tell us roughly when.

When will my report be ready?

We email you when it is ready, and it stays in your account. Your water results come from the laboratory, so the report waits for them.

Why does my water test come in a different box?

It comes straight from the independent laboratory that tests it, in its own box with its own prepaid return label. Fill it at your tap and send it back to the laboratory on the day you fill it, Monday through Wednesday. It never goes in our box.

What if something gets damaged or lost?

Tell us. Accidents in a lived-in house are ordinary. The agreements you read before ordering set out, in plain numbers, what happens if an instrument is lost or damaged, and we will contact you before charging anything.

Do I need to live near you?

No, not near our homebuilding work in North Georgia. The box travels by parcel carrier and nobody from Luxewell visits your home. We ship to a limited set of states at launch, listed on the order page when orders open. The box needs a street address, not a PO box.

Can I measure again later?

Yes. A second measurement is a separate order. We keep the names you gave your rooms, so your account can show the two weeks side by side. Two weeks in the same home will differ in weather and routine, so the report describes what changed without claiming why.

Test Your Home

Start with the home you have.

Tell us which rooms matter and we will send a box with a case for each, plus one for the whole home. About five minutes to set up, a week of ordinary life, then a written report. $1,650 for the whole home and two rooms.

Hear when orders open

Orders are not open yet. Tell us where you live and how many rooms you would like measured, and we will email you when they open.

Bedrooms, a child's room, an office: whichever you wonder about.

No card needed, and nothing is charged. Joining is free and holds nothing. You will hear before orders open, and you can leave at any time. We ask for your ZIP code to plan where the first boxes go, and we will only write to you about the Home Baseline. To be removed, reply to any email from us.
